North West Ginning
The processing of cotton - commonly known as 'ginning' is the operation at
North West Ginning. Ginning separates the cotton fibres from the cotton
seed which is then baled ready to be sent to cotton mills. The processing of
cotton is a very educational and interesting sight.
Cotton is planted in approximately October each year and ready for harvesting
from approximately March/April. The harvest period (March/ April until June)
is the best time to view the whole process - from harvest to ginning.
