Armidale Heritage Drive and Walk
Armidale is a city of heritage and beauty. Armidale Tourism has developed a self walk/drive tour that covers every building of importance. The tour stretches over the town covering all the historical points. The tourist office supplies the brochures with maps to tell you where to go and when you get there and the importance of each building.
Most of the historical buildings in Armidale are still used. Some of the National Trust buildings in town, include: The Commonwealth Bank, Court House, Post Office, State Bank, New England Hotel, Imperial Hotel, Westpac Bank, Saumarez Homestead (an attraction), Old Bishops Court(a restaurant), and Roseneath (an antique shop).
The buildings have been restored and painted in their original heritage colours. The Town Hall is a fine example of restoration and is well worth a visit, this can be arranged cy City Council.
