Iron Bark Creek is located adjacent to The Old Woodsreef Mine and is a popular location for fossicking in the Barraba area. The Barraba area has a colourful mining history and is rich in mineral deposits such as chromites, fireclays, diatomite, gold, limestone, magnetite, asbestos, copper, chalk, gemstones and quartz. Bushwalking is also an activity in the Iron Bark Creek fossicking area.
