Flight of the Six Gorges

The pilots favourite flight through some of the most spectacular and rugged gorges in Australia. Including: Dangars Gorge and waterfall, Gara Gorge and cataracts, Blue Hole, Armidale city, Metz Gorge, Bakers Creek Gorge, Hillgrove Mine, Wollomombi Gorge and falls (the highest in NSW), Chandler Falls and the Macleay River Gorge. Duration: Approximately 60 minutes.

Gorge Discovery

A great introduction to gorge flying, this trip includes Dangars Waterfall and Gorge, Gara Gorge, Mushroom Rock and the Blue Hole with a view over Armidale - Australias highest city. Duration: Approx 30 minutes

Step out of the helicopter, pick up a rod and cast your cares away. Depart Armidale Airport for a stunning flight over the Wild Rivers Gorge network. Experience this unique flight as you hug the bends and curves of the Macleay River with the mountain gorges looming up on each side. Your return flight is just as spectacular. Climb out the Dangars or Gara Gorge and onward to the highest city in Australia, Armidale West Kunderang is a 20,000 acre working cattle property owned by the McRae family. The area is surrounded by the Oxley Wild Rivers National Park and offers numerous wilderness streams and gorges. The only access is by helicopter or by 4WD through locked gates. Its location in the heart of the gorge country makes this the ideal base for discovering some of the best natural bass water available. The best fishing is November to April.

West Kunderang Wilderness Adventure

One of the most encompassing gorge experiences on offer, this flight combines stunning canyon flying and a landing deep into the heart of gorge country. You will leave from the Armidale airport, fly over Armidale city and down into the rugged and untouched world of the Macleay River valley and Oxley Wild Rivers National Park Wilderness area. Land at a secluded spot on West Kunderang Station beside the river and enjoy a picnic lunch and maybe a dip in the river. Your flight back to civilisation will take you back up the Macleay River valley into the stunning Gara Gorge and back home to Armidale. Duration approx: 2 to 3 hours (1.5 hours flight time)
