Nelson Bay Heritage Walk

This scenic walk highlights 40 historical sites between Dutchman's Bay and
Little Beach, including part of the original gravel road from Newcastle and the
towns first cemetery with Chinese fisherman's graves.

The walk ends at the inner lighthouse at Nelson Head, Little Beach where you
can explore the lighthouse building. The heritage walk takes about three
hours to complete at a leisurely pace.

A brochure which explains each of the markers and includes information on
vegetation found along the walk is available from the Port Stephens Visitors
Centre in Nelson Bay or the Historical Society for $1.10.

Barbecues are located along the nelson bay waterfront.
