Nine Mile Beach and Tuncurry Rockpool
As the name suggests the Tuncurry Nine Mile Beach stretches for nine miles to Backhead in the north. The beach is un patrolled with the southern most corner popular with beach goers. The long stretch offers good surfing breaks and the southern break wall is pleasant to stroll along or fish from. The beach also attracts 4WD enthusiasts (a permit is required), beach fishing and those wanting to walk their dogs. The Rockpool is a protected area providing clear and gentle lapping waters ideal for young children. Located at the entry to the break wall the area is extremely popular with families and has a disabled ramp to the waters edge.
