Sugar Creek Flora Reserve Walking Trail

This is a beautiful 30-minute walking trail. Flora Reserve features a range of virtually undisturbed forest types including flooded gum, moist eul and rainforest. The reserve is particularly noted for its well developed cabbage tree palm under storey, barbecue and picnic areas available.

The forests types represented in the reserve include coachwood rainforest, depauperate rainforest, flooded gum, tallowwood/blue gum, moist blackbutt and semi-moist hardwoods. The reserve has a sub-tropical climate with maritime influences, averaging over 1300mm annual rainfall, and frosts are rare. Soils
are clay loam with deep humic layer developing from sedimentary rocks.
