Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage
Port Macquarie Hastings Heritage was established by Mitch McKay - a resident of Port Macquarie for more than 25 years.
Prior to establishing the business Mitch was the Heritage Officer for the local Council during which time he managed many of the area's historical projects.
Port Macquarie, the traditional country of the Birpai, has a fascinating past since those days, back in 1821, when it was founded by the British as a penal settlement.
The tours provide a general introduction to Port Macquarie and there is no better way to appreciate the town's history than on foot. Listen to the stories, visit historical sites and see how history is being interpreted.
