Historic Daydream Mine
Historic Daydream Mine was founded in 1881, before the beginning of the Broken Hill Mining Company (BHP). The mine is just a 45 minute drive from Broken Hill.
Drive through some of Australia's great outback scenery into Apollyon Valley. Come and take a one hour fully-guided underground and surface tour of the old mine workings to see how this mine once operated. Some of the miners were only boys – several as young as eight years old.
Sturdy, rubber-soled footwear is essential in accordance with the Department of Mines Safety Act. No EFTPOS or credit card facilities available. Underground and surface tours are available.
Directions from Broken Hill: 20km on the Silverton Road, turn right at the sign, another 13km unsealed road.
