Walk In Mine
The Walk-in Mine is in the north-western town of Lightning Ridge, which is famous for the mining and production of black opals.
Visit the mine to view a film on the history of opal mining in Lightning Ridge, listen to an informative talk on opals, go fossicking or pop into the showroom, to purchase opal jewellery at excellent prices.
Coaches and large groups are catered for, with free tour guides provided to the mining fields and within the Walk In Mine.
There is also a barbecue and picnic area.
