Paroo-Darling National Park
Paroo-Darling National Park is the newest park in Far Western New South Wales. It is made up of several different parcels of land and offers a diverse range of recreational opportunities. Many of the areas the park protects are of outstanding international and national significance. The park contains extensive wetlands associated with the Paroo River, the last major unregulated river system within the Murray-Darling Basin. The Paroo River Wetlands have recently been added to the list of internationally important wetlands recognised under the Ramsar Convention. The park also protects several endangered and vulnerable species. A range of opportunities for people to experience this special place are being developed in a way that also protects the park's other values.
