One Day Mutawintji Eco Tours

Mutawintji National Park is within the rugged Byngnano Ranges and is home to a wide variety of birds and wildlife. This tour has Advanced Eco-Certification, and tours are conducted by an Aboriginal guide (when available). Among the gorges and cliffs are the secrets of an ancient culture. The Park reveals examples of rock carvings, paintings and stencils that provide evidence of aboriginal occupation of the area that dates back more than 8,000 years. You start the day tour with pick up from your accommodation. The 130 kilometre drive from Broken Hill takes in ever changing landscapes including the Barrier Ranges, saltbush and bluebush plains, mulga and red sand country.

One Day White Cliffs

White Cliffs was Australia's first commercial opal field dating back to the 1880s. Opal was found here by two kangaroo shooters, who went on to become wealthy opal barons. Although mining is only carried out on a small scale now, opal is still found here. The fields look like a lunar landscape, dotted with around 50,000 mine shafts. Today most residents live underground, making this a most unique place to visit. They arrive in White Cliffs late morning for a look around before taking a lunch break. Then it is time to fully explore this unique place. Visit Jock's Place, the Solar Power station and several opal shops to learn about how opal is mined and cut and polished.

Three Day Mungo Kinchega Outback Tour

Mungo is an area rich in Aboriginal history. Evidence found here dates back well over 40,000 years to man's early occupation of this once much wetter area. Menindee/Kinchega is an area abundant in bird and animal life where the Darling River meanders through the Park feeding an extensive lake system many times larger than Sydney Harbour.
