Carnarvon GorgeTravel west from Brisbane via Toowoomba, Dalby and Roma before arriving at the first Carnarvon destination, the ‘Mount Moffat Section'. After extensively exploring this area the tour heads to the ‘Salvator Rosa Section'. Explore the towns of Barcaldine and Aramac. In Longreach visit the Stockman's Hall of Fame, Qantas Museum and a dinner cruise. Your third Carnarvon destination is ‘Ka Ka Mundi' which is the most remote area of the national park. Spend three full days at Carnarvon Gorge where a local guide provides a wonderful insight to the rock formations, native flora and fauna of the gorge. Corner CountryThis spectacular tour visits the remote outback area known as Corner Country. Its name is indicative of its location where the states New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia meet. Visit many national parks as you head west from Sydney over the Blue Mountains to Broken Hill, and onto Tibooburra and Innamincka. Head north to the famous outback town of Birdsville. Travel east to Windorah and Quilpie before visiting historic Myendetta Station. Visit Charleville and Nardoo where you will bath in the artesian pools before heading back to Sydney via Barrigun, Bourke and Dubbo. Outback PubsThis tour takes in some of the most remote pubs in Australia and the magnificent sights along the way. Accommodation is a combination of hotel stays or camped near the pub. Spend the days touring and visiting some of the main attractions, often stopping at a watering hole or two along the way. The Simpson DesertThe journey begins in Adelaide and heads to the Oodnadatta Track. Visit Lake Eyre, William Creek, Pink Roadhouse and Dalhousie Springs. On the Simpson Desert crossing you will experience the challenge and solitude of this magnificent country. Trek across some 1,100 sand dunes which run across the track. Stop at Poeppel Corner, the junction of three states. Travel east to Big Red, the highest dune on the track. After exploring Birdsville, head south along the Birdsville Track, cross the dog fence and arrive at Maree. Rejoin the Oodnadatta track south to Leigh Creek and the Flinders Ranges. | |
