John Lake Centre - Narrandera Fisheries Centre
The John Lake Centre features an aquarium with 'Percy' the 50 pound Murray Cod.
The theatrette presents a video on biologist John Lake who pioneered research into endangered species of the Murray/Murrumbidgee/Darling River.
Have a close encounter with native and endangered species of the Murray Darling river system. View the four varieties bred at the Centre as well as many other species and interesting locals such "Agro" the mighty Murray Cod, the endangered trout cod, and the Murray Cray, with its gigantic nippers.
The Inland Fisheries Research Station carries out important research into fish species of the Murray-Murrumbidgee-Darling system.
Visitors can make the most of a trip to the station with a picnic on the beautiful lawns and garden areas, barbecues and toilets are available.
