Eucumbene Trout Farm
Eucumbene Trout Farm is both Informative and lots of fun. A visit to the farm is sure to be of interest to any fishing enthusiast as this New South Wales Fisheries licensed farm has an operating hatchery and grow out area. Visitors will find the farm both informative and fun as they can relax in the knowledge that they are guaranteed to catch a fish and learn much about trout.
The hatchery and grow out area will enable visitors to view literally thousands of fish at various stages of growth. The fish are used to stock the farm's own Trout Lake where visitors to the farm took over 100 Rainbow Trout over the recent school holiday break. The average weight of the Rainbow Trout in the lake is 600 grams, but fish of up to two kilograms can be taken.
Anglers who are having a little trouble hooking a fish in the lake can try the 'sure catch' tank where they are guaranteed a fish. The majority of stock is presently Rainbow Trout, however you can also see the rare Golden Trout and Brook Trout.
Impromptu tours are conducted for those visitors interested in the finer points of trout-breeding and growing. No matter what age group, everyone finds something to do at the Trout Farm. Whether you're interested in learning the finer points of 'trout-tickling' or catching that elusive 'big one' for lunch you'll be glad that you took the time to visit one of the Snowy’s most interesting attractions.
