Charlotte Pass Ski Resort
At 1760 metres, Charlotte Pass Village is the highest resort in Australia and is snowbound for most of the ski season. There are no cars or buses, nor are there long queues for the ski lifts, which are right on our doorstep, so you get more time to ski and snowboard. And with relatively few people holidaying in the village, the snow stays fresh and crisp longer.
Family fun, friendly service! Charlotte Pass Village and the historic Kosciusko Chalet have a long tradition in Australian skiing. In fact The Chalet was established as the first true alpine skiing area in Australia in 1930. You'll find yourself in a very special place, but you'll soon feel right at home. Being bound by snow and with no crowds, Charlotte Pass Village is ideal for parents and children alike. A few days in our ski school will have all the family skiing or snowboarding right from your front door (no long treks to the ski lifts!), with gentle slopes for beginners, plenty of intermediate terrain, a few quite challenging advanced runs, plus many
cross-country trails.
Charlotte Pass Village is located in the heart of the Snowy Mountains, eight kilometres past Perisher Valley towards Mount Kosciusko, it is the highest village in Australia. As the resort is entirely snowbound in winter, access is only by oversnow transport (Snow Cat)from the Perisher Valley Skitube terminal.
Charlotte Pass is one large ski bowl. You can ski right from the front door to the lifts, without worry of trudging in your ski boots for hundreds of metres. Charlotte Pass Village is the most intimate ski resort in Australia with only 12 club lodges plus the Kosciusko Chalet. With 4 lifts (1 triple chairlift, 1 T-Bar and 2 pomas), as well as a portable rope tow, lift lines are kept to a bare minimum, in fact it is unusual to see any lift lines at all.
Charlotte Pass Lookout and Boardwalk are easily accessible during the Summer Months by normal car. The Main Range Walk and Summit Walk begin from the lookout.
