Roan Horse Inn Bed and Breakfast
William Hibburd built this Inn in 1845, naming it after his favourite horse. It was built to service gold rush clientele and is one of the few remaining from this
era. When a policeman reminded him he needed a name sign Hibburd pointed to his horse, tethered out the front and said ‘that's my sign'. While Hibburd
and the roan horse are long gone, the reputation for excellent accommodation and hospitality remains. The Inn has three double rooms, each with a
shower/spa or claw foot bath. The main bedroom is luxuriously appointed with its own private balcony, dining room with open fire, French antique
furniture, television and sound system.
