An exhibiting gallery established in 1989 on a private property adjacent to the Murramarang National Park. Situated in the quaint little hamlet of Mogo 10 km south of Batemans Bay is the Wattle Bark Gallery. This Gallery is manned and operated by the Batemans Bay Art and Craft Society. The aims of this society are to promote and encourage Art, Craft and Culture in general within the Batemans Bay area.
To organise and conduct exhibitions of Art and Craft. To conduct classes of instruction for members, where this is possible and practicable.
Hanging on the walls you'll find many examples of the talent of the local artists who work in various media ranging from oils to watercolour, realism to abstract, seascape to land scape, still life to portraiture, something for everyone. You and your companions are invited to Pretty View, home of mixed media artist Margaret Dimoff, to view a comprehensive collection of Margaret's latest works including Paintings, Sculptures and Ceramics.
Born in Germany 1946. Migrated with her family to Australia in 1952 and resides in N.S.W. Margaret has been painting since the early 1980's. Her style is unique and she draws inspiration from various sources. She is inspired by the many forms of rock paintings she has seen during her travels in different countries. Colour from her garden. Texture and line in beautiful hand made papers. Shapes and balance in nature.
As a full time artist and at this stage of Margaret's painting career her works have had an enormous impact with an increasing demand, creating paintings in acrylic, oils and mixed media. Also her unique styles of sculptures and ceramic pieces have proven very popular.
