Experiment Farm - National Trust Visitor Information
Discover the simple, yet elegant, lives of early colonial setters at Experiment Farm. One the site of the first land grant in the colony owner James Ruse proved that a settler could support a family with very little help from the Government. The house recreates the era of the second owner, Surgeon John Harris. The cellar houses an exhibition on the establishment of Experiment Farm. Activities can be arranged for children that demonstrate how the Ruse family became self-sufficient. The National Trust runs a regular program of other activities at the site and guided tours are available on request. Check the National Trust website for more details.
