For lovers of gardens and especially camellias, a visit to Eryldene is a must. Owner Eben Gowrie Waterhouse researched, propogated and planted hundreds of camelias in his breath-taking garden, writing two books on them in the process. Waterhouse has been called the father of Australian gardnening. The house is the work of architect William Hardy Wilson and is the most complete of his commissions remaining.
