Dharawal State Recreation Area and Nature Reserve
Dharawal State Recreation Area and Nature Reserve is 5,940 hectares in size and is bound by Lake Cataract catchment to the south, The Lake Woronora catchment to the east, Campbelltown to the west and Holsworthy Military Range to the north.
O'Hares Creek, the dominant feature of the central section of the state recreation area, is the only major watercourse draining of the Woronora Plateau, which still has its catchment in an excellent state of preservation. The catchment contains a number of large upland swamps.
A large number of outstanding Aboriginal sites occur in this area. These include rock engravings, charcoal and clay drawing, hand stencils, axe grinding grooves and occupation sites.
Recreational opportunities include: bushwalking, swimming, canoeing, and liloeing. Some of the larger creeks in the area feature waterfalls, and rock pools
