Heathcote National Park

This wild place close to Sydney is a walker's park. See the beauty and diversity of the bush in this rocky reserve. In spring, Gymea lilies give a scarlet glow to the gullies. Swim in hidden pools along the gorges.

Backpack camping is permitted at limited sites within the park (permits and bookings are essential: phone 02 9542 0648).

35 kilometres south of Sydney. No vehicle access: walk in from Heathcote or Waterfall. Access from Sydney by train is via the Illawarra line, alighting at Heathcote or Waterfall.
