Architecture Harbour CruiseThis is the only architecture cruise in Sydney. Don't miss the last Australian Architecture Association's harbour architecture tour for 2009. Enjoy this 90 minute narrated harbour architecture tour which brings a new perspective to the city of Sydney focussing on architecturally significant sites around the Sydney Harbour foreshore. Cruise aboard the Deerubbun led by Sydney architect Michael MacCormick. Depart Saturday: 5 December 2009 at 12.45pm from the Eastern Pontoon, Circular Quay. Castlecrag Walking Tour 1Discover one of Sydney's most picturesque garden suburbs, perched on a rocky peninsula surrounded by sparkling waters of Middle Cove. Ben Gerstel who will be leading this leisurely walk is a local architect who has developed this tour of leafy Castlecrag. A two hour guided walk on Saturday 14 November 2009. Harbour Edge ExperienceLook at some of architecture's most interesting buildings lining the edge of Sydney's harbour from the Harbour Bridge to the Opera House. A two hour guided walk on Sundays: 11 October, 8 November and 6 December 2009 at 2pm. Surry Hills WalkA walk through one of the vibrant, inner city suburbs looking at architectural gems such as the Sydney Dental Hospital and the Readers Digest Building. Learn about the history of Surry Hills with a trained AAA volunteer guide. A two hour monthly walk held the last Saturday of every month until 28th November 2009. Sydney City Architecture Bar TourThe design has been critical in redefining the bar experience in Sydney's central business district. Extraordinary use of space with ingenious material selection has produced some of the most evocative interiors publicly available in Sydney. Join the AAA guide who will explain the details behind these dynamic and exciting spaces in the central business district. A two hour guided walk on the 12th October and 9th November 2009. Sydney City Architecture WalkSydney's central business district from Martin Place down to Circular Quay changed dramatically after World War II. Examine many of the buildings in the city, tracing the development of modernism and the high rise tower. From Harry Seidler's iconic Australia Square tower that dominated the Sydney skyline, the tour explores the most exciting free-standing buildings of the late twentieth century, including the British architect, Sir Norman Foster's Deutsche Bank Place, a recent addition to Sydney's skyline. A two hour guided walk, every Saturday at 10.30am until 28 November 2009. Twilight Sydney City Architecture WalkLearn about some of Sydney's most important buildings in a 90 minute walking tour in the evening light of early summer including the Deutsche Bank and Aurora Place in the evening light of summer with a trained AAA guide.
