Aboriginal Tour of DjeebahnThe only Aboriginal Eco Sightseeing Tour in New South Wales. Interactive tour of Djeebahn: departing from Cronulla wharf at 9am, our custom built vessel will take you into the waters of the Rainbow Serpent Yulunggur, belonging to the Dharawal people. What to expect: 4.5 hour tour including gourmet food - morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Meet local Anthropologist and Archeologist who will take visitors through the journey. Learn about the unique ecology of the Port Hacking River system. Enjoy informative talks on the native plants and wildlife. Go ashore and look for bush tucker at an Aboriginal Miden Camp that was formed over thousands of years. Visitors will receive a "Welcome to Country" with a traditional smoking ceremony from an Aboriginal Elder. Hear how the rock art in the area was created and the stories that date back more than 4,500 years. Royal National Park Eco CruisesCome onboard the Port Hacking Explorer II for an interactive eco cruise. Starting from Cronulla Public Wharf, you can relax in the informal atmosphere of the Port Hacking Explorer II, whilst exploring the upper reaches of the Port Hacking River. Our first stop will be at Deeban Spit to interact with some of the local Pelicans and other birds. We will visit the secluded beach of The Meadows, which is only accessible by boat and from this point we will enter the edge of the mangrove forests, where a guide will talk on the ecology of the mangroves and the wildlife that inhabits the estuary of Muddy Creek. We will venture to Audley Weir gateway to the Royal National Park which is the end of navigable water and marks the fresh water section of the Port Hacking River. At this point you can disembark for 3.5 hours and explore everything historical Audley has to offer, the 2.30pm afternoon cruise will pick you up to continue back to Cronulla. Activities include: Bushwalking A visit to the Information Centre Bicycle hire for the Lady Carrington Drive forest trail Rowboat hire Bird watching Barbecue or café lunch on the riverbank If you prefer, you can stay onboard and enjoy an ice cold beer or a glass of chilled wine whilst we cruise by some of Sydney's most magnificent waterfront properties and listen to the commentary provided on the journey back to Cronulla. The round trip is 3.5 hours in total, or if you decide to disembark at Audley your tour will be extended by 3.5 hours. If you disembark there is a small park entry fee per person. Tour includes morning and afternoon tea, commentary and cruise. There is a lunch time menu onboard for the afternoon cruise. | |
