Since 1998 - SEA has provided surf and beach programs, surf lifesaving tours, Australian beach and surf culture programs, kayaking and other activities along Australia’s east coast. Manly Beach - Surf and Surf Lifesaving TourGroups visiting Manly participate in programs at the beach and in the surf, hosted by famous surf lifesaving clubs. The groups are shown the unique Australian surfing and surf lifesaving culture through events, activities, tours and experiences. The chance to be an honorary surf lifesaver for a day. Experience Australian surf lifesaving culture first hand. Learn to understand and experience the surf. Tour inclusions 1. Surfing Skills & Beach Team Build Surfing & body surfing lessons with a surf lifesaving champion Team beach games including: Ironman relay and Surf Lifesaving competitions Coastal awareness session, learning to understand ocean currents Wetsuits and surf boards provided 2. Surf Lifesaving Exhibition and Coastal Walk Watch real surf life savers perform rescue drills and escape strong ocean currents Coastal walk lead by true locals, boasting some of Australia's most beautiful coastlines. Locals educate the groups about the Australian way of life and the local geography 3. Surf Lifesaving Presentation and beach barbecue 15 minute film featuring Australian surf lifesaving, surf sports & coastal geography Barbecue lunch served at the surf club - beef patties, salad and fresh rolls, deserts and refreshments Optional extras: Kayaking and leisure boats on Sydney Harbour Water slides Beach volleyball Aquatic qualifications Aquarium and shark dive Snorkelling Please enquire for more details This program is split into three 2 hour parts, however can be packaged to suit each group. Part 1: Surfing skills and beach team build Part 2: Surf lifesaving presentations and barbecue lunch Part 3: Surf lifesaving demonstration and coastal walk Each program component can be booked on its own, or at a discounted rate for packages of 2 or 3 components. Important information: We operate all year; some optional extras may not be available during winter months. Coach drop-off at the venue and parking bays near by. Public change room and cold shower facilities at the venue. Surfing gear is provided - surfboard, wetsuit, wetshirt. Participants need to provide swimmers, sunscreen, shorts and towel. Proficiency in swimming is not required for group members; however SEA needs to be advised of non swimmers. Ratio of 1 guide per 15 on land and 1 per 6 in the surf. Surf Life Saving EventParticipants are provided with a unique opportunity to participate in an iconic Australian experience. Participants are given education and skills in negotiating the beach and surf environment then given the challenge of a short competition or elite level demonstration. Events can be a short experience or fully catered for full day event. Surf Skills ProgramParticipants are provided with graduated surf skills programs. | |
