Arnhemlander Cultural and Heritage Tours offer specialised small group touring to a fascinating and unique area inside Arnhem Land and Northern Kakadu. Your guide, often an indigenous guide, will take you to places inaccessible to most, where you’ll explore stunning landscapes consisting of impressive sandstone escarpment outcrops, forests, floodplains and billabongs. Gain an insight into traditional land ownership, bush and hunting skills, food gathering and bush tucker preparation. You’ll also see ancient rock art as well as some fine examples of Western Arnhem Land art at a local community art centre.

These informative tours are owned and operated by the Djabulukgu Association, an association representing the Aboriginal land owners of Northern Kakadu National Park and areas of Western Arnhem Land.

Arnhemlander Cultural and Heritage Tour

The Arnhemlander Cultural and Heritage Tours is an Aboriginal owned cultural tour into Arnhem Land and Northern Kakadu National Park. This four-wheel drive day tour, often with Aboriginal guides, crosses the famous East Alligator River entering Arnhem Land to visit Mikinj Valley, a superbly scenic area of sandstone outcrops and escarpment, forests, floodplains and billabongs. Mikinj Valley is where you will witness history depicted in the rock art sites of the Aboriginal occupation shelters. Visit places inaccessible to most, gain knowledge of traditional land ownership, bush skills, hunting, food gathering and bush tucker preparation as well as view the region's world famous Aboriginal rock art in it's natural state without fences, barriers and other tour groups. You'll also visit Injalak Arts and Crafts Centre in the community of Gunbalanya where fine examples of Western Arnhem Land art are available for purchase. Please quote code ARN when booking.
