Amuwarngka Cultural Tours is an Aboriginal owned and operated tour company based on Groote Eylandt, which is in the Gulf of Carpentaria, off the coast of eastern Arnhem Land.
Traditional owners guide visitors around various sites of interest on Groote Eylandt, inclucing rock art galleries, swimming holes and remote beaches for shallow water spear fishing experiences. Traditional cultural experiences are assured, whilst learning about land values and lifestyle of the Warnindilyakwa people on Groote Eylandt.

Historic Art Site TourYour tour begins with an experience not to be missed, a Welcome to Country ceremony where the traditional Aboriginal custodian or elder will welcome you to their land. Set off for a visit to an impressive rock art site and as you sit and enjoy morning tea, your guide will reveal stories of the area. It is here, at Naked Pools, where you may also enjoy a swim in the glistening waters. A guided bush walk follows and as you wander the path you'll discover the various materials used in local arts and crafts, with your guide pointing out plants and dyes from nature. With a maximum group size of eight, this tour offers an intimate experience and a local's perspective of Groote Eylandt. | |
