Donkey Camp B and B
Donkey Camp B and B is located on Pandanus Farm, a working mango property of 3,000 trees. This part of the Katherine River was named Donkey Camp after the many donkeys which were camped there to transport gold across the river. Two pet donkeys are very keen to make friends with any visitors and the large rammed-earth house is situated on five acres of lawn with many shady areas to sit and relax.
A taste tempting barbecue of Katherine beef and local salt water barramundi can be prepared for you by your hosts. Donkey Camp is licensed so the opportunity to have an Australian wine with dinner is also available. Quality bird watching tours, bushwalk and camp oven dinner with stories are available by arrangement. Guests can take a walk through the orchard and learn about grafting and other points of interest. Fruit is picked late September and helpers are always welcome.
