Cave Hill Day TourThe Cave Hill Day Tour is an Indigenous cultural experience that will provide you with an insight into everyday Aborigianl life in the desert of the Pitjantjatjara Lands of Central Australia. Travelling from Ayers Rock Resort by four-wheel drive, you will go off-road passing the formidable Mount Conner enroute to Cave Hill. The Anangu are the traditional owners of Cave Hill and will be your hosts during your visit here. The highlight of this tour is magnificent cave paintings graphically illustrating the drama of the Seven Sisters Tjukurpa (creation time). This is possibly the most significant art site in Central Australia. You will also have the opportunity to investigate traditional food gathering and the preparation of bush tucker delights, and enjoy a picnic or barbecue lunch before returning home. Indicative rate shown is per person. Please not however that this tour requires a minimum of four passengers to opertate. Cultural Immersion ProgramExplore and take in the amazing panoramic views from Cave Hill, with Uluru / Ayers Rock, Atila / Mt Conner and the Musgrave Ranges in the distance. Other highlights include a visit to Minymaku Arts Centre with an opportunity to purchase artworks direct from the artists, learn how to fashion artefacts or traditional weapons out of mulga or gum trees, forage for bush tucker and enjoy a walk on the Ngintaka Trail - a songline telling the story of a giant perentie lizard. Aboriginal people use songlines to pass down creation stories from generation to generation. This is a stimulating and memorable way to share in the culture of an ancient people.
