Organic Growers Market - Northey Street City Farm
The Northey Street City Farm Organic Markets started in 1997 just nine years ago and the Market has gone from strength to strength.
Many of the original farmers and wholesalers are the backbone of this development.
On 4 February the Market changed to Sunday mornings and this change has been very successful with shoppers coming a bit later (around 7.00 a.m. instead of 6.00 a.m.) but staying longer.
Most people come along for breakfast at the Northey Street City Farm Cafe or a coffee at DiBellas, hot chocolate and croissants for the kids. But the big buyers are those who stock up on fruit and vegetables, Asian greens, pineapples, strawberries, oranges, bananas, watermelon, potatoes, apples, grapes, carrots, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, nuts, organic meat - you name it and a wonderful array of exotic greens all freshly grown. Not to mention the health food traders plus bread and cakes galore!
Distributors believe this is the only Organic Market in Brisbane, possibly in Queensland – tell your friends, bring your family, help support the organic industry and Northey Street City Farm, every Sunday 6.00 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. including Easter Sunday.
