Fort Lytton

Fort Lytton is an important historic site, built in 1881 and used for the defence of Brisbane until the end of the Second World War. It is a wonderful opportunity to explore a typical nineteenth century fortress concealed behind grassy embankments and surrounded by a water-filled moat. The museum provides a comprehensive display and interpretation of important aspects of Queensland's military and social history, from 1879 through to the 1950s.
