MacArthur Museum

Officially opened in August 2004, on the 59th anniversary of the end of war in the pacific, the MacArthur Museum Brisbane, is, some say, as significant to Australia as London's Cabinet War Rooms are to Britain. Located on the eighth floor of the heritage listed Edward Street building, the Museum includes the actual office occupied by General Douglas MacArthur when he directed the Allied Forces World War II Pacific campaign from 1942 to 1944.
