Bellthorpe State Forest and Forest Reserve

Set at the southern end of the Conondale Range, the Bellthorpe State Forest and Forest Reserve offer untouched bushland with rainforest, waterfalls and attractive creeks. They are home to 600 identified plant species and many endangered and threatened animals.

Picnic beside a rock pool at the Stony Creek day-use area. Although there are no formal walking tracks, you may walk along the forest roads with care. Bushwalkers are encouraged to talk to rangers before using steep forest roads. Look for frogs around the rock pools. Identify the many forest birds. Permits are required for mountain bike riding, four-wheel-driving and motorcycle touring.
