Mount Mee Forest Reserve
At the D’Aguilar Range’s northern end, this huge expanse of rainforest and eucalypt forest contains clear creeks, and lookouts with lovely views.
See the old sawmill remains at the Gantry day-use area. After a picnic, take the Piccabeen Palm walk to learn about the area’s forest and its logging history. Visitors in wheelchairs can access this walk with assistance. Fit walkers can hike the Somerset trail to enjoy views of Somerset and Wivenhoe lakes. Campers can stay at Neurum Creek or the more remote Archer camping area. Obtain a permit to go four-wheel-driving on a number of restricted access roads.
Mount Mee Forest Reserve is around 20 kilometres south-west of Woodford via Mount Mee Road. Archer campground has four wheel drive access only.
