Burrum Coast National Park
Remarkable cabbage tree palm forests are one of several coastal lowland vegetation types protected in the Woodgate section of this park. Others include wallum heath, paperbark swamps and mangroves. The Kinkuna section features a narrow picturesque beach, low coastal dunes, tea-coloured waterways and flat sandy plains.
Explore the Woodgate section on a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk across a melaleuca swamp or along walking tracks to a bird hide, viewing and fishing platforms. Enjoy camping at Burrum Point (four wheel drive access only) or behind the dunes at Kinkuna. In late winter and spring, treat yourself to the wallum heath wildflower show.
