Mouth of Baffle Creek Conservation Park
Baffle Creek is one of Queensland's remaining undisturbed coastal rivers. Its mouth marks the southern boundary of the Great Barrier Reef World Heritage Area, which extends north to the tip of Cape York. The northern shore of the Baffle Creek estuary features sandy beaches backed by low, open casuarina woodlands, with paperbark woodlands further inland. Mangrove woodlands line the southern shore.
Experience the quiet solitude of this coastal park. Camping is permitted behind the dunes on the beachfront or overlooking the estuary. Go birdwatching or fishing. Stroll along the beach.
