Baddow House

Featured on Maryborough's Walk and Drive Tour - Recently restored to its original design, Baddow House was the third home built in the area by pioneer settler Edgar Aldridge. Edgar built the home for his wife Maria, a convict woman transported from England in 1837 as a bonded person. Unlike many others who moved to the new town site, Aldridge remained at the old township until his death in 1888. The original decorative ironwork used on the verandahs was removed and melted down for the war effort in World War Two.
