Former Queens Hotel

Featured on Maryborough's Walk and Drive Tour - The original Queens Hotel was destroyed in the 1876 fire, and was rebuilt a few years later. The Goodwin family opened the first hotel here in 1864. In 1866, the proprietress, a young single woman saved the life of a baby who had been accidentally dropped into a cess pool. The Queens Hotel ceased operation in the late 1980s.
