Boat Mountain Conservation Park
A distinctive landmark near Murgon, a flat-topped ridge shaped like an upturned boat, gives its name to Boat Mountain Conservation Park. Rising to a height of 589 metres, Boat Mountain offers panoramic views across the South Burnett countryside. The surrounding landscape forms a tapestry that changes as crops ripen. The park is popular with walkers. Enjoy four tracks ranging from 370 metres to 2.2 kilometres. See impressive vine forest. Capture views from two lookouts. To avoid being scratched by prickly shrubs, wear protective clothing. Naturalists, photographers and birdwatchers will also enjoy this park, as 60 species of birds have been identified and the list is growing.
