The Fraser Venture Vehicle barge operates between River Heads / Hervey Bay and Wanggoolba Creek daily. The Kingfisher Bay Vehicle Barge operates between River Heads / Hervey Bay and Kingfisher Bay Resort daily. The Fraser Explorer and Rainbow Venture Vehicle barge operates between Inskip Point / Rainbow Beach and Hook Point at the southern end of Fraser Island daily. Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service permits are required for driving and camping on the island. Drivers should be aware of tide times and keep off the beach for two hours either side of high tide.

Fraser Dawn Vehicle Barge

The Fraser Dawn vehicle and passenger ferry service operates daily between Hervey Bay Boat Harbour and Moon Point, towards the northern section of Fraser Island. The crossing takes one hour with the Fraser Dawn departing Hervey Bay at 8.30 a.m. and returning from Moon Point at 9.30 a.m. daily. From 1 April to 31 August, the afternoon service departs Hervey Bay at 3.30 p.m. returning from Moon Point at 4.30 p.m., with the services from 1 September to 31 March operating a half hour later. Refreshments are available onboard and vehicles 'reverse on - drive off'.

Fraser Explorer and Rainbow Venture Vehicle Barges

The Fraser Explorer and Rainbow Venture Vehicle Barges operate between Inskip Point, near Rainbow Beach and Hook Point, located at the southern end of Fraser Island. The vehicle barges operate continuously on a daily basis between 6.00 a.m. and 5.30 p.m. The journey takes 15 minutes and both vehicle barges are ‘drive-on drive-off'.

Fraser Venture Vehicle Barge

The Fraser Venture Vehicle Barge operates daily services between River Heads, which is located 20 minutes south of Hervey Bay and Wanggoolba Creek, located around the middle section of Fraser Island. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.

Kingfisher Bay Vehicle Barge

Kingfisher Bay Vehicle Barge departs three times per day from River Heads, which is located 20 minutes south of Hervey Bay. The vehicle barge allows great to Fraser Island and Kingfisher Bay Resort access for four wheel drive enthusiasts.
