Set in the true Australian Outback, on land bordering the Bulloo River, the Explorers Caravan Park is a top class complex for Caravanners. Our Park comprises of 25 large powered sites (17 drive-through) with dump facilities located on each site. There are numerous unpowered camping sites, six ensuite self-contained luxury cabins and a bunkhouse for the budget conscious with four single rooms.
The Park boasts a modern well designed large indoor/outdoor camp kitchen with ovens, microwave, television and stools, free gas and electric barbeques with patio tables and chairs as well as heating/cooling. The amenities block is fully tiled with ample clean showers and toilets, including disabled facilities and wheelchair access.
Located at the end of Dowling Street, Explorers Caravan Park is very close to the shops, hotels, restaurants and the town attractions. It is an ideal location to base yourself for day tours to the National Parks, bird watching, visiting historic pubs (Noccundra, Hungerford, Toompine) or the Burke and Wills "Dig Tree". Visit the afternoon Hydro Power Display or take one of the other walks around town, or just put your feet up and do some Yellow Belly fishing and Yabby catching in the river and water holes.

BunkhouseSolidly built of sandstone bricks, these rooms provide budget accommodation with a few of the important little luxuries included. A stay in the Bunkhouse Rooms provide you with your own room with single beds, towels and linen supplied, heating/air conditioning, television, fridge and cold running water. Their excellent Camp Kitchen is only a few steps away, with two electric cookers plus ovens, a microwave, toaster and an urn on the constant boil. Patio furniture for your convenience is just outside your room so that you can enjoy the view of the setting sun, or just sit, relax and read a book in comfort. A further very short walk takes you to the shared amenities for a wonderful hot shower. Double Ensuite CabinThe larger family can comfortably stay in the one self-contained double unit, utilizing the two adjacent cabins with two ensuites and internal doors. The luxury Ensuite Cabins provide a "home away from home" while you enjoy the middle of Australia's outback. One room contains a double bed and a couch which folds out to another double bed, and the other a double bed and a single bed with a fold-up single bed. Towels, linen, full cooking facilities, pots, cutlery, crockery, heating/cooling - everything you can think of is provided for a comfortable and memorable stay. Enjoy watching the sun rise, have a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine and put your feet up and relax on the patio. Luxury Ensuite CabinsThe luxury Ensuite Cabins built of sandstone bricks provide a "home away from home" while you enjoy Australia's outback. The studio-style rooms have a double bed and a couch which folds out to another double bed, or a double bed and a single bed with a fold-up single bed. Towels, linen, full cooking facilities, pots, cutlery, crockery, heating/cooling - everything you can think of is provided for a comfortable and memorable stay. Take a short walk across to the park barbecue to enjoy some outside cooking and catching up with tales from other travellers. Powered SiteExplorers Caravan Park has 25 powered sites - 17 of these are drive-through. They are large sites - large enough for the biggest mobile home plus car, with awnings on the side. A dump point is provided at each site for your use, and they have native shrubs lining the sites to give a certain amount of privacy. Make full use of the super indoor/outdoor Camp Kitchen with stainless steel benches, tables, stools, microwave and oven. You can even turn on the heating or cooling for the kitchen while you watch television, or relax and enjoy some time around the barbecue at the patio tables and chairs. Unpowered AreaExplorers Caravan Park is built on 11 acres with innumerable unpowered sites in a bush setting. Shaded by gum trees, these flat and sandy sites have fire places for you to build your own comfortable camp fire. A perfect spot to watch out for birdlife in the area and enjoy the experience of being "in the bush" with the safety and little luxuries that the caravan park provides. No need to forego on all luxuries - hot showers, laundry facilities, camp kitchen and amenities blocks have everything you will need to provide you with a wonderful holiday experience. You are welcome to recharge your batteries (cameras, phones, laptops) in the camp kitchen - and watch television when the mood takes you. | |
