Myendetta Homestead Outback Experiences
Steeped in nearly a century of family history Myendetta Homestead is one of the essential outback experiences.
In 1908 Charles Francis commissioned Robin Dods, a talented Brisbane architect, to design a homestead that was both beautiful and functional. The result of Dods’ foresight stands today as it was originally planned. Although a little weathered, this imposing building has withstood the ravages of times because of its innovative design.
After four generations ‘Myendetta’ is still in the same family, and Richard and Wendy Agar invite you into their family home to join them for a morning tea tour. Discover this historically and architecturally significant building for yourself while you learn how the occupants’ lifestyles have altered over the last century.
The entertaining, lively tour encompasses the homestead and related outbuildings and includes family memorabilia, anecdotes from both family and staff members. Free home cooked morning tea including tea and coffee is served prior to the tour.
Visit Myendetta homestead and step back in time. Experience the service of yesteryear, be entertained and become part of living history.
