Graham Andrews Parklands
The Graham Andrews Parklands are an Outback oasis. The park has peaceful surrounds, a lake complete with ducks and geese, wood barbecues, rustic native gardens and an adventure playground for the kids, all the ingredients for a great day out, or a short stop over to stretch your legs.
The Native Timber Walk, situated within the park, is delightful and will introduce you to 18 different unique arid flora species that over million of years have developed survival techniques to combat the harsh environment. The interpreted walk will identify European and Aboriginal uses for each species, and the Common and Botanical names for each.
Early morning or just dusk is an ideal place to see or here some great outback bird songs. Galahs, Sulphur Crested Cockatoos, and Red Rump Parrots all call the park home.
The park is also the picturesque setting for the Charleville Visitor Information Centre and Steiger Vortex Rainmaking Guns. Learn of the desperate measures taken in the early days to break a drought.
