Tambo Teddies
Tambo Teddies all began in 1992 as a result of a Future Search Workshop (a government incentive to create jobs in country towns). Two days of brainstorming came up with the idea of Teddy Bears being made out of wool. Popular opinion said it wouldn’t work, but after many laughs, three women decided to bite the bullet.
After many frustrating months of designing and planning, the first Tambo Teddies were ready for public viewing in February 1993. Tambo Teddies are unique in that each bear is named after a property in the Tambo district. They can be dressed as ‘true blue’ Aussies in moleskin pants, check shirt, plaited belt, ‘Bear-as-a-Bone’, hat and swag – so move over Paddington Bear!
Tambo Teddies give a lifetime of huggability, loveability and snuggability! So why not take one home as a memento of your trip to Tambo!
