Morven Historical Museum
The Morven Historical Museum comprises of five separate buildings: Building One has a delightful collection of memorabilia from the early days of European Settlement when the district pioneers were "taming the wild outback country". Life was tough in those days and innovation was the key to survival.
Building Two hosts a selection of old machinery, hardware, and larger articles including an old manual wool press.
Building Three features a display a collection unique to Morven. Inside you will find a miniature Outback Township of the 1800s. Each one is a finely crafted model of buildings that were to be found in Morven and the surrounding district in years gone by. They are typical of many early Australian buildings and a rare treasure indeed.
Building Four is a Kerosene Hut. Built during the depression years of the 1930s, when money and resources were scarce, kerosene and petrol tins were flattened and nailed onto a light sapling frame. Mainly pensioners lived in these huts, truly a testament to Outback Ingenuity and a must see.
Building Five is home to Davy Packman number five Steam Engine that is currently being restored.
