Fishing at Quilberry Creek

Great Fishing can be found near Cooladdi, at Quilberry Creek (Aboriginal word meaning 'plenty of water') on the way to the Opal Fields on the Quilpie Road, Located near the Cooladdi Fox Trap, fishing could not be easier, all you need to do is turn up, throw your line in, sit back and relax. Species in the Creek include, Yellow Belly, Black Brim, Jew Fish and Murray Cod. Originally the creek was known as the 'pump hole', it was the watering place for the Railway steam engines on the Charleville - Quilpie line.
