The Valley Rattler
Experience the Cooloola Region's Mary Valley aboard the 'Valley Rattler' - easily one of Queensland's most scenic railway lines. The Red Rocket Rail Motor departs Gympie Station on Tuesday mornings for a short journey to Amamoor Station where passengers have time for morning tea and a wander through the arts and crafts stalls. The train departs at 9.30 a.m. and returns at 11.30 a.m.
Full day Steam Tours depart every Wednesday and Sunday and travel to Kandanga, Imbil and Dagun Stations. Passengers disembark at any of these original stations, fully restored and landscaped, to enjoy interesting excursions within the district and good old-fashioned country hospitality. On Wednesday the train departs at 10.00 a.m. and returns at 3.30 p.m., and 4.00 p.m. on Sunday.
Half day Steam Tours depart every Saturday and travel to Amamoor and Dagun Stations. Passengers can admire the restored stations that capture the original character of the early 1900s. They can enjoy arts and crafts, wine and cheese tasting and local produce. The morning train departs at 9.30 a.m. and returns at 12.30 p.m. The afternoon train departs at 1.45 p.m. and returns at 4.45 p.m.
