Telco offers the whole family a country experience. 45 minutes north of Roma, arrive by road, bus, plane or train (to Roma), or use the property’s own airstrip.
Accommodation is in the spacious downstairs area of a large Queenslander. There's an open dining area and lounge with books, games, television, video and DVD; a bathroom with shower and bath; and a kitchen should you prefer to self cater. Otherwise, join the family upstairs for meals-on the deck or the verandah for home-cooked meals and a yarn about the day.
Depending on the season, you may wish to be involved with feeding cattle, goats or deer; see calving or kidding, mustering or branding or simply relax and enjoy the peace and serenity as you go bush walking, swim, play tennis or fish.
Children will enjoy the variety of wildlife: tours of the property may sight goannas, echidnas, bustards, perhaps a koala, but certainly kangaroos and wallabies. Near the house they can make friends with the resident peacocks, chooks, ducks, guinea fowl, pig, dogs, alpacas and often bottle feed a joey and baby goats.
Spotlighting around the homestead reveals possums and bettongs under an amazing star-filled sky without the interruption of streetlights.
