Scottys Beach House
Scotty's Beach House is a 100 bed backpackers resort across the road from the yellow sands of Mission Beach. Their air conditioned accommodation ranges from traditional bunkhouse-style dormitories to ensuited double/twin rooms, all linked by a wide verandah that surrounds their tropical gardens. The centrepiece is an 18 metre pool with a three metre deep end that is refreshing all year round, complete with shady hammocks slung between the fringing coconut palms. A fully licensed bar and bistro are located on the beachfront side of the resort and offers a wide range of tasty meals. Many other eateries are within easy walking distance of the resort. Scotty’s Beach House is not licensed, so guests are free to purchase their own alcohol for consumption on site. Mission Beach is the premium location to skydive onto the beach or go white water rafting on the mighty Tully River, but there are a variety of other local tours for the not-so adventurous including Great Barrier Reef cruises, Dunk Island exploration and rainforest walking tracks. Fishing is popular, and rods are available for hire. With a variety of local tours, range of accommodation and their chilled atmosphere, Scotty's offers something for everyone.

Basic Double/TwinThese newly painted rooms offer couples comfort and privacy with air conditioning and ceiling fans. Guests also have the use of their own fridge. The room consists of a double bed with a single bunk on top, ideal for two friends or couples alike. Deluxe DormitoryTheir deluxe dormitories are air conditioned with ensuite bathrooms. Each dorm sleeps four to five people (two bunks and one single). Guests also have their own fridge and shelving unit for personal effects. Great for backpackers who still want to experience the traditional dormitory but with a little home comfort. Mixed DormitoryThese rooms, recently repainted and refurbished, are air-conditioned with ceiling fans and bar fridges. Room holds four or six people, with a backpack rack and shelving for guests' effects. The bathroom is just next door. These rooms are well suited to those who prefer traditional dormitory style but like their comforts. Nunnery DormitoryTheir basic dormitory, recently refurbished and repainted. It is an airy, high-ceilinged room with air-conditioning and ceiling fans, divided into two sections. Each half has three bunks (six guests) and a bar fridge, making it a 12 share. Guests are provided with a pack-rack and shelving for personal effects and the bathrooms are just next door: this is a great room for those who enjoy the traditional backpacking style and wish to meet fellow travellers. Upgrade Double/TwinTheir signature double/twin rooms are cosy air-conditioned rooms with ensuite bathroom and fridge, with tea/coffee making facilities and all linen included.
