The SS Yongala is one of the world's great dives. The SS Yongala Shipwreck is a national historic site that lies within the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, near Townsville. It sank in 1911 with the loss of all on board. The wreck begins at 14 metres below the surface and sits on a sandy bottom at 28 metres. The artefacts, marine life and variety of corals that cover the wreck are spectacular. Trips depart daily from Townsville and Magnetic Island. Because Adrenalin Dive is committed to protecting the natural environment, the Yongala Day Trip is Eco Certified by Ecotourism Australia. Adrenalin Dive are the only operators running trips to the Yongala from Townsville and Magnetic Island. Liveaboards are also available.

Five Day Open Water CourseAdrenalin Dive offers the beginner diver the ultimate in diving experience, the Outer Great Barrier Reef and, yes, the SS Yongala. Your PADI open water course begins with two days of theory and pool training. Your instructor will take you, at an easy pace though the knowledge and skills necessary to become a confident, safe diver. Smaller student numbers mean better more personalised attention. Then it's off to sea on the three day three night liveaboard trip. Once qualified you have five more fun dives to explore with your buddy, the reef and wreck and all they have to offer. Or, you may wish to take part in one or more dives of the adventure diver program to further your knowledge and skill (see optional extras). Three Day Three Night LiveaboardThe absolute best way to see the Great Barrier Reef is to live there. See the stunning array of wildlife waking up to an explosion of colour and activity. Dive and snorkel into the evening as daylight softly move to dusk. Be a part of the reef settling down for the night as the last rays of sunlight bathe Wheeler Reef's beautiful coral cay (Island). Two whole days of diving and snorkelling, two of the wondrous pearls that go to make up the exquisite necklace that is the Great Barrier Reef. Then the grand finale!
